Lindsey Hartsough, thank you for taking the time to shed some light on your business. Being a Open Air Photobooth event partner over the years as been wonderful and we’d like to learn a little bit more about you! Please tell us a little about how you started your business and your background leading up to “Opening your doors”.

I started my business simply because I wanted to do a bit of everything- design weddings, plan all the details and coordinate on the day of. 17 years ago there were really only designers or coordinators and while I shadowed some of the best in the business I was constantly told that I needed to pick one or the other and so I decided to create exactly what I dreamed of, which became Magnolia Event Design & Planning. I always asked- "who would want to go home before the party begins?" I wanted to be there to watch the reception room fill with guests, to hear the toasts and watch the special dances.

With over 17 years of event planning and design experience, I (Certified Event Planner, Reverend & Certified Travel Agent with IATA) was named one of Santa Barbara County’s “Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders”. A Santa Barbara native, I founded Magnolia Event Design in 2006 and has since been sought after by many celebrities for event design and planning. With a strong global network of notable vendors in the field, including floral designers, private estates, chefs, sommeliers, photographers, lighting designers, hotels, resorts and rental companies, the Magnolia Event Design team is able to make your dreams come true no matter where you are in the world.

I am known for my unique, creative ideas and cutting-edge design technique. My avant-garde style, attention to detail, enthusiastic personality and take-charge demeanor help clients sit back and relax while I creates the event of their dreams. Through my imaginative, innovative and inspiring designs, I consistently exceed the expectations of my client no matter the size of the event. My vision and execution is not only creative, but also intimate, leaving an everlasting impression on those in attendance.

My passions outside to events are - traveling and exploring new countries and cultures, gardening and cooking. I hope to someday add knitting... ;)

Amazing! What type of events / clients do you typically work with?

I am primarily a wedding designer/planner, but I really love the chance to design any special event. Our saying is - Celebrate the little things, so there really isn't an event that we don't design or plan, however we live in one of the top destinations in the world for weddings, so we tend to do a fair amount of those.

Our typical clients are stylish, fun, happy go lucky, warm and creative individuals. A lot are from the entertainment and fashion industry.

How long have you known / worked with Nick Andrews and Open Air Photobooth?

We have known Nick and Open Air Photobooth since it's inception. We have watched Open Air Photobooth expand and grow in leaps and bounds. We find their quality and customer service to be exceptional, so they have remained our go to Photo Booth for all of our events.

How have your experiences been with Open Air Photobooth?

I find that for myself being a creative it is nice to work with a company like Open Air Photobooth that really wants to make sure that the Photo Booth strip or image matches that of the event we are designing. Nick is super helpful and accommodating when it comes to layouts, custom backdrops and even some of our less than traditional ideas for a photo booth.

Is there anything you would like to see Nick / Open Air improve upon in 2019 and beyond?

New props that aren't hot dogs! haha
